ProHospitality Search is an employer paid contingency recruiting firm. This means that a fee is paid when a candidate is hired through us or as a direct result of any candidates referred by us. This includes other candidates referred by our candidates or their references

Where do you find your candidates?

We have been in the business for a long time. The original recruiting firm, Chefs' Professional Agency, is the oldest continuous food and beverage search firm in the United States. We have a firm network of over 12,000 food and beverage professionals gained over the years and a wide net of personal contacts within the industry.

Our best candidates come through word of mouth and our existing connections. We find it rarely necessary to make cold calls, since we are related to most restaurants in the country by only one degree of separation. We do not pull resumes from the Internet, as we feel uncomfortable with the unknowns they pose.

We network in various restaurant centers of the country to keep current on the what as well as the who of the industry.

Do you place service staff as well.

No, but we will gladly place server positions on our web site for our established clients. Email us the details.

What is the value of working with ProHospitality Search?

That depends on your needs. Since we keep contact with many professionals when they are not looking and are constantly interacting with the food and beverage community, we have access to people who are not currently on the market. Since we are actively in the restaurant community and conversant with people in the industry, we also frequently have inside information about property and people in change, for better or for worse. Finally, this many years in the industry has provided us with intuition based on the many infinitesimal clues provided by candidates. Can I place an ad on your site?

No. We are a recruiting firm and use our reputation to gather a pool of highly qualified restaurant management staff for the needs of our clients.

Do you place temporary employees?

Not as such, but we do have consultants available for specific aspects of restaurant management such as wine list development and service training on limited term basis.

Do you provide chefs and kitchen staff? What about kitchen managers?

No. Chefs' Professional Agency continues to handle all culinary staff recruitment.

Will you guarantee your placements for a year?

No. We are dealing with people on both sides of the equation, as we are not their mother, we can't control them for long. Chemistry, the restaurant management style and fate play a great part in the success of any placement. We check backgrounds to the extent possible, and we do offer replacement within limits.
